أَرْكَان Arqaan

Terms of Use

Last updated 28 August 2026

This is a plain-language document written by the people who build Arqaan. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and should be before public launch.

1What Arqaan is

Arqaan is an app for keeping your daily worship: logging the five prayers, counting dhikr, working through short lessons, and growing a garden that reflects what you have kept. Using it means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.

These terms sit alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what Arqaan stores and why.

2Your account

You need an account to use Arqaan, created with an email address and a password, with Google sign-in, or with Sign in with Apple. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; anything done from your account is treated as done by you. Give us an email address you can actually reach, because that is how account recovery works. If you sign in with Apple and choose Hide My Email, the relay address Apple gives us counts as that address: everything we send about your account, recovery included, goes there and reaches you.

If a child is going to use Arqaan, a parent or guardian should create and look after the account.

3A personal aid, not religious authority

Arqaan helps you keep track of your own worship. It does not judge it, and it is not a scholar. Lessons, du'as, hadith and the answers given by Hadi, the in-app assistant, are study material, for a ruling that affects how you worship, ask a qualified scholar or your local imam.

Prayer times are calculated, not observed. Arqaan computes them on your device from your position, the date and a calculation method. Different methods and different local conventions produce different minutes, so Arqaan's times may not match the timetable at your mosque. Where they differ, follow your mosque. The same applies to the qibla compass, which depends on your phone's own magnetometer and can be thrown off by metal, magnets and cases.

Zakat figures, nisab thresholds and step counts are estimates offered to help you think, not financial, legal or medical advice.

4Using Arqaan fairly

While using Arqaan, please do not:

Reports are read by us and acted on. Leaderboard standings that were gained by cheating may be reset without notice.

5What you put into Arqaan

Your worship record is yours. We store it to run the app for you, as described in the Privacy Policy, and we do not claim ownership of it. The parts you deliberately make public, your display name, handle and avatar, are visible to friends and, unless you turn leaderboards off, to the other members of your weekly bracket.

Everything else in the app, its lessons, text, artwork, the garden and the software itself, belongs to us and may not be copied or redistributed without permission.

6Ending an account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account. That begins a 30-day grace period; sign back in within it and Arqaan offers to keep the account, tap Keep my account and the deletion is cancelled. That tap is the only thing that cancels it: signing in alone does not, and closing that prompt without tapping leaves the deletion scheduled. If it is not cancelled before the 30 days are up, the account and everything attached to it is permanently removed.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks section 4, or that we are legally required to remove. Where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you why first, but serious abuse may be acted on immediately.

8The service is provided as it is

Arqaan is offered as it is, without warranty of any kind. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or correct in every calculation, and features may change or be withdrawn as the app develops. We are not responsible for a missed prayer, a missed reminder, a miscalculated time or direction, or for losses arising from relying on the app instead of your own judgement.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the law of your own country that cannot be limited by agreement.

9Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Arqaan changes. The date at the top of this page always shows the current version, and if a change matters we will say so in the app. Continuing to use Arqaan after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Something here unclear? Email contact@hajify.com and we will explain it in plain words.
