أَرْكَان Arqaan

Frequently asked

The questions we are asked most. Help covers how the app is laid out; anything neither page answers, just email us.

Do I need an account?

Yes. Sign up with an email address and a password, with Google, or with Sign in with Apple on iPhone and iPad. Your garden, streak and progress belong to the account, which is also what lets them follow you onto another phone.

Why don't the prayer times match my mosque?

Arqaan calculates times on your device rather than reading a timetable, and different calculation methods and local conventions land a minute or two apart. You can change the method and the Asr school in the prayer times sheet. Where Arqaan and your mosque disagree, follow your mosque.

Can I set my location by hand?

Yes, pick a city in the prayer times sheet. While your device is supplying a real location, that is the one the times use, even with a city saved — so to rely on the city you picked, turn location access off.

What is Noor?

Noor is what you earn for the deeds you keep. It fills the level you are on, which is what grows the tree standing in your garden. The total you have earned over the life of the account is counted separately and never goes down.

How does the streak work?

Keep at least one deed in a day and the streak grows by one. A day where nothing is kept starts it again from one.

Why is my garden wilting?

A wilt means about a week has gone by with no deeds kept. Keeping any three deeds today revives it, and the banner on the Garden tab says so while it lasts.

Does Arqaan work offline?

Yes. Prayer times, the qibla, the Qur'an text, the dhikr counter and logging your deeds all work with no connection. Anything you log is kept on the phone and syncs by itself once you are back online.

Is Hadi a scholar?

No. Hadi is an in-app assistant meant to help you study, and like the lessons, duas and hadith in the app it is study material rather than a ruling. For anything that affects how you worship, ask a qualified scholar or your local imam.

How do I add a friend?

Every account has an eight-character friend code, on the Community tab. Share yours, or enter theirs, and the other person accepts the request. You can remove or block someone from the same place later.

How do I stop appearing on the leaderboard?

Turn off Show me on the leaderboard, which sits in Settings and on your Profile. You carry on earning Noor and keeping your streak, and you can still see the week's standings — you are simply not listed on them.

When does the league reset?

Every week. The week ends on Sunday night and the standings roll over on Monday.

What languages does the app support?

English for now. Arabic content always carries three layers, the Arabic itself, a transliteration and an English translation, with the transliteration shown by default.

Can I get a copy of my data, or delete my account?

Both, from Settings. Download my data gives you a copy of your account, worship log and progress, and Delete account starts a 30-day grace period, which tapping Keep my account is what cancels. There is more detail on the Help page and in the Privacy Policy.

How do I reach a person?

Email contact@hajify.com. We reply within 3 working days. Settings → Support also has Report a bug and Send feedback, which open your mail app with the subject already filled in.
